Best Blender for Frozen Drinks?
Anyone have suggestions? I am addicted to coffee and love to make my own frozen coffee drinks (this is probably as much as I buy!). Our blender is horrible so I have had to settle for more iced coffee lately when there is no time for stopping anywhere!
Yeah, I have a suggestion, but you may not like it! My blender cost nearly $400, but it's one of the best on the market. I have a Blendtec, but I know many people swear by the Vitamix. It's my single favorite appliance in my entire kitchen! It crushes everything.
Vitamix, hands down. It's expensive, but if you really want a good blender, nothing really compares. I owned a coffee shop & when I sold it, I should have kept mine!
Also, I'm not sure how you make your blended drinks, but I never used anything like Big Train or the other powder mixes. I made my own concoctions. I splurged the other day & bought a 16 oz. Nonfat Mocha Frappe. I asked to see the bag for the mix & it ended up being 18 grams of fat & about 600 calories without whipped cream. Make that a daily habit & you're in trouble, you know? I used ice, espresso shot, Ghirardelli sweet ground chocolate, fat-free milk (or which ever you prefer), fat-free coffee mate (not good for you exactly, but it helps make it a bit creamier) & then add any flavored syrup. It's the cheap way to make one, but they are still good.

Hope you are still enjoying your floats!
Have a great weekend, Lisa!! :)
